What Day Is It Today: Because You Need to Laugh too

My good morning email to Kevin today--because you need to laugh too:

STORIES, BOOKS AND LIFE

Everyone has a story. Sometimes it's a story that's comforting and easy to read in it's familiarity. Sometimes it's a story that breaks your heart. Sometimes it's a story of pain that seems too great to bear. Or a story that speaks about blessings too numerous to count.

One day soon after Kevin was diagnosed with cancer I found myself staring at the bookcases in our bedroom, trying to find something to lose myself in; another person's story to crawl into where I could forget our concerns for a while.
I remember looking through the books and thinking I can't avoid this--cancer is part of our story now.

Even so soon into his diagnosis I know there will be hard times. But I also believe there will be many moments of great blessing and faith. Our life is filled with incredible people who inspire us to do what we think we can't. I want some record of these people, these blessings, these moments--good and bad, if only to remind myself that life is, overwhelmingly, a story of faith.
